The #eurozone finance ministers are gathering in Brussels for a meeting a major issue of which will be #Greece. However, fears are growing that a decision on the issue whether Greece should be given the next tranche of over 31 bn euros under its adjustment programme will not be taken today because the debt sustainability report of the Troika is not ready yet. Entering the Council building in Brussels, Finland's Finance Minister Jutta Urpilainen did not exclude the possibility the Eurogroup to meet again this week. This is necessary also because the deadline for Greece to pay 5 bn euros of debt expires on Friday.

Adelina Marini French Finance Minister Pierre Moscovici said that today's #Eurogroup meeting must be positive and constructive to reflect the vote in the Greek Parliament last week (the approval of another round of budget cuts and the 2013 budget). He added that it was possible not all the problems to be solved today but at least a political agreement to be concluded in support of Greece. "My attitude and the attitude of the French government is positive and constructive", Mr Moscovici concluded.

Adelina Marini Entering the Council building in Brussels, Christine Lagarde, #IMF chief, said that #Greece had done an 'awful lot" of work and now it was its creditors' turn to do the same. "We're not here for a quick fix. We're here for a real fix", she said, repeating "real fix" several times.

Adelina Marini Michael Noonan, the Irish finance minister, whose country will take over the EU rotating presidency as of January the 1st, said that he personally had no expectations from the Eurogroup meeting tonight, quoting his colleagues' "on the record" statements that no decisions today. He also said that Greece seemed to have fulfilled all the conditions it was required to fulfill. We have to see what the Commission will propose.

Adelina Marini Wolfgang Schäuble, finance minister o #Germany, was cautious about the expected outcome of tonight's #Eurogroup meeting, saying that he saw on TV many reports that there would not be a decision tonight, but that he was not certain. Germany was first to say that there might not be a decision tonight because the Troika report on the Greek debt sustainability might not be ready for the meeting.

Adelina Marini #Greece is on the right way, Luc Frieden, finance minister of Luxembourg, said, adding that what has been achieved so far by Greece was very impressive."We came a long way with Greece. We have to make the next step too", he added, repeating several times that structural reforms were needed.

Adelina Marini As expected, the #Eurogroup meeting ended late last night without a decision #Greece to receive the next tranche of the bailout worth a little over of 31 bn euros. The eurozone finance ministers have agreed to meet again on November 20th to discuss the country's financial needs and debt sustainability.
